The 4th World Congress of the International Cleft Lip and Palate Foundation
Dear Colleagues,
I would like to give you a warm welcome to the 4th International Cleft Lip and Palate Foundation Conference here in Eastbourne. I know many of you have travelled thousands of miles to attend, and i wish you a special welcome.
I hope you enjoy your stay in the UK and at this meeting in particular. A good conference is about learning and of course that essential face-to-face contact and discussion. Not only do we all learn from these discussions but also make friends from many parts of the world.
The ICPF has now established itself as a significant learning and educational resource. Whilst I congratulate the founders of this project I think there are still many opportunities for the future many of us have worked with colleagues from the emerging countries and I see the same countries as the future of this foundation. I look forward to these set piece conferences happening away from the industrialised world and in the emerging countries. I look forward to ICPF becoming an open true association, with a defined membership and Council with members from the major countries and or geographic centres.
Thank you once again for supporting this conference and I look forward to meeting you all.
With warm regards,
Peter Ward Booth FDS FRCS
